What is authentication in OxiMailing?
Updated on April 21, 2025
What is authentication?
The authentication process aims to allow OxiMailing to send messages while ensuring to your recipients that they have indeed been sent by you. The signed and authenticated message will reassure your recipients and their operators, thereby increasing your deliverability (the arrival in the inbox of your recipients).
What are the benefits of authentication?
When a domain is authenticated, you benefit from the following advantages:
- Better deliverability
- Optimized display on certain platforms (removal of “via” on Gmail for example)
An authenticated message helps optimize the effectiveness of your campaigns.
Can we send emails via OxiMailing without setting up authentication?
Of course! However, we still recommend trying to set up authentication if you have the possibility to maximize the results of your campaigns.
How to perform this operation?
Before you start, you should know that setting up authentication requires some IT knowledge. This operation is not complicated, but it is generally carried out by your IT department and/or your webmaster.
This operation is done once and for all. It is fully compatible with sending via servers other than those of OxiMailing.
If you do not have access to your website, you also have the option to reserve a domain via OxiMailing directly.
To start the authentication process:
- Open OxiMailing
- Go to ” Manage your account”, then the ” Domains” tab (1)
- Select the domain you will use (or add it if it is not present) (2)
- Click on the ” Authentication” button (3)
The process will then start.
- To get the authentication installation guide on your domain, click on “View the installation guide”.
- The status of the different authentication steps (SPF, DKIM, and Tracking) is displayed using shields (a red symbol indicates that the step is not yet valid, a green symbol indicates that the authentication is active).
How to verify that my domain is correctly authenticated?
There are several ways to do this:
- Via ” Manage your account”: authenticated domains appear with a special icon (green shield):
- You can also run a spam test that will alert you to any authentication issues (if there is no mention, everything is okay).
I need help with this feature, can you assist me?
Of course! Technical support is available to help you with any questions.
