Can I use OxiMailing to send emails with attachments?

Updated on April 21, 2025

Yes, this is entirely possible, you can even send customized attachments with OxiMailing. But in reality, it is not really recommended. Let’s say that this solution remains suitable for campaigns with no more than a few hundred recipients.

Indeed, the problem that arises is the same as with embedded images. Attachments can significantly increase the size of the message, and therefore the sending time. Moreover, an overly large email can annoy your recipients, as they may fill up their mailboxes. Finally, it should be noted that anti-spam filters are generally stricter with emails containing attachments.

So, avoid attaching files as much as possible, especially if they are in pdf or word format, and even more so if your message contains little text. Instead, upload your files to a web server or to your OxiMailing storage space and include download links in your email. By doing this, you also reduce the message’s weight and sending time. Another significant advantage is that you will know through tracking who has downloaded the file (while you cannot know who has opened an attachment).
